Job Title: Just Play Football Game Leader

Responsible to: Just Play Football Coordinator

Commitment: 10 continuous weeks. Two x 1-hour weekly sessions (between March - May 2021)

Locations: Bridgend / Merthyr Tydfil / Rhondda Cynon Taff –Exact locations, days and times TBC

The FAW Trust are looking to appoint a number of game leaders for a brand new initiative entitled ‘Just Play Football’, which has been created for children in school years 1 and 2. Just play football gives boys and girls of all abilities a chance to turn up to a venue and play games. The emphasis is on fun, enjoyment, and participation. Following the 10-week block of sessions, children will either be signed posted to existing clubs or new teams will be formed where no there is no current age group provision.

Key Responsibilities:

o        To facilitate a weekly games programme (set-up, delivery, and de-rig).

o        To record participation information on a weekly basis.

o        To assist with the recruitment and mentoring of mums and dads to take ownership of any newly formed teams because of this initiative.

Ideally a Game Leader is someone who:

o        Has enthusiasm, energy, and passion for football

o        Has previously worked with young children

o        Can use their own initiative

o        Is self-motivated and enthusiastic with a ‘can do’ attitude

o        Enjoys interacting with a range of individuals

o        Holds a minimum of an FAW Football Leaders Award (or equivalent)


o        £10 per session

o        Branded kit

o        Mentor support from Football Development professionals

o        Opportunity to work with the Football Association of Wales Trust and Local Authority Sports Development Departments
