Here's where you'll find every 3G football pitch in Wales and why they're so vital

Bad weather in Wales often creates huge problems with maintaining grass pitches.

This issue has sparked a surge in football clubs swapping grass for third generation (3G) surfaces that the whole community can enjoy, without worrying about damaging the pitch.

"The biggest problem we have is finding places for children to play. 

It's no good them being enthused by Aaron Ramsey and Gareth Bale if there aren't sufficient quality pitches for them when they go out and play."

To combat this problem, we have set a target of 100 3G pitches in Wales by 2024.

Sport Wales are working with us to create more 3G pitches to help get people people active.

They have a guide to accessing funding for community projects here.

The FAW, Hockey Wales and WRU, together with Sport Wales, work together in the 'Collaborative Sports Facilities Group'  and have established a nationally agreed vision and model for developing clubs and increasing participation through appropriately located and fit for purpose artificial playing surfaces.
