250 coaches to up-skill thanks to Be Active Wales Fund

More than 200 Welsh coaches have snapped-up the opportunity to up-skill themselves to FAW C Certificate level, thanks to the Be Active Wales Fund

The Sport Wales funding gives us the opportunity to support our 500 junior football clubs by enhancing the skill-set of 250 grassroots coaches, at no cost to themselves.

Our FAW platinum and gold accredited clubs were each given two spaces in the scheme before while silver bronze and standard clubs were given one each.

Now C Certificate courses are available to any FAW Football Leaders qualified coaches based in Wales but they’re going fast! There is also the possibility for coaches with a Goalkeepers Award to use the fund for a Goalkeepers C Certificate course.

FAW Level Two Coach Education Manager Mark Roberts said: “This is a fantastic opportunity during such challenging times to say a small thank you to the hundreds of affiliated grassroots clubs across Wales and thousands of dedicated volunteers and local coaches, who wish to seek further education to further benefit their players;

“I would also like to say thank-you for the fantastic support of Sport Wales in making this opportunity available.

“We look forward to welcoming coaches from every corner of Wales onto our Level 2 coaching courses from February 2021.”
