FAW Trust Boys' Player Pathway

FAW Trust Boys' Player Pathway

In 2021 the FAW Trust Boys' Player Pathway was subject to some exciting changes to give our nation's most talented male players more opportunity to develop their skills.

Every players' journey starts at a grassroots club and, from there, the most talented players graduate to professional club academies or FAW licensed academies.

The top players in the FAW licensed academies go onto Cymru Leagues regional squads before meeting up with the most talented Welsh boys in the regional squads and ultimately play in the Cymru Cup.

At U15, a Welsh national team is created, in preparation for the Victory Shield tournament at U16.

Then the top players develop into the Wales U17, U18, U19 and U21 squads before ultimately representing the mens' national team.
