FAW Club Accreditation
A guide to getting your club FAW accredited to the highest possible standard
What is club accreditation?
Our club accreditation programme helps us to grow the game, in a safe, effective and responsible manner.
The aim of the scheme is to raise standards at every junior club in Wales' six area associations, so parents can be confident in the care their children will receive at their chosen clubs.
We do this by ensuring clubs have more and better coaches, all qualifications are valid and correct safeguarding and procedures are in place.
The results of our Club Accreditation survey say 74% of clubs felt that club accreditation had a positive impact on club development by raising coaching standards, increasing the profile of the club and improving club structures.
Our club accreditation criteria explains what clubs need to achieve for gold, silver, bronze or standard level accreditation
Each club needs to completes an accreditation workbook for the FAW and their area association to assess what level they're operating at, in terms of coaching, safeguarding and governance.
Why does my club need accreditation?
Put simply, without accreditation your club wouldn't be allowed to play.
But it's far more than that. It's the best way to convince parents of potential players, coaches and volunteers that you are a well-run club that meets FAW coaching and safeguarding standards and is attractive to join.
Sounds great. Where do I sign?
The first thing you need to do is look at our club accreditation criteria, so you are fully aware of the accreditation criteria at each level.
Then you need to complete an FAW Club Accreditation Workbook which will be available through your junior league.
We have put together a Club Accreditation Workbook user guide to support you in the completing your workbook and becoming and accredited club.
Once your workbook is completed, we can assess which level you are currently operating at and accredit you accordingly.
