Women’s and Girls’ National Football Festival - 15th August 2015

Women’s Welsh Premier League Launch for Season 2015/16

We are delighted to announce that the Welsh Premier Women’s League have decided to launch their 2015/16 season by holding a National Women and Girls’ football festival. It is being held on Saturday 15th August at Blaendolau, University Playing Fields, Aberystwyth.

The festival will take the following format:

Age Group 1

U 8’s (school years 3 and younger) & U10’s (school years 4 & 5) - Free entry

In tandem with the FIFA: Live Your Goals Campaign we are encouraging as many girls as possible, particularly those that have not already played before to come along and have a positive first experience of football. Girls can either turn up or come in teams (U 8’s – 5 a side, U 10’s – 6 a side). In addition to football, girls’ can also experience face painting, dancing and other football related fun activities.

Age Group 2

U12’s (yrs 6 & 7), U14’s (yrs 8 & 9), U16’s (yrs 10 &11) & Seniors – Competitive small sided tournament.

Competitive small side tournament (£10 Entry per Team):

  • U 12’s – 7 a side (max. squad 10

  • U 14’s – 8 a side (max. squad 11)

  • U 16’s – 9 a side (max. squad 12)

  • Seniors – 9 a side (max. squad 12)

Fixtures and rules will be distributed to team managers on arrival (10am registration for a 10.30am start for all teams).

This event provides us with a fantastic opportunity to showcase Women’s and Girls’ football in Wales. We believe Jayne Ludlow – Women’s National team manager and possibly some Welsh International players will be there to support this event, and we hope you can too.
