Why you should vote Gwent County FA’s Simon Berry for McDonald’s People’s Award 2016

Here we take a look at Gwent County FA coach Simon Berry and make the case for him winning our McDonald’s People’s Award 2016.

Simon has been coaching for more than 15 years at all levels and age groups.

He helped to start many mini sides and encouraged parents to become coaches and take on the teams.

When one of the most established Newport clubs folded a few years ago, Simon worked alongside Communities First to start the club back up from scratch.

He coached at Monmouth Academy, and has been chairman of several Newport clubs steering them in the right direction to achieve better coaches and fun for the boys and girls at the clubs.

He now runs a side at a senior level although that doesn’t deter him from helping out in the youth league in Newport where he additionally works alongside the Newport District Junior Youth League coaching the under 16’s representative side.

Simon works endlessly within the community, especially on the estate where he lives, and deserves to be recognised for it.
