Why you should vote for Central Wales FA’s Julie Christopher for McDonald’s People’s Award 2016

Here we take a look at the Llandrindod Wells Junior Girls Football Club coach Julie Christopher and make the case for her winning our McDonald’s People’s Award 2016.

Julie has been running the junior club for four years.

It started with just three girls attending but now 51 girls, aged four to 16, play for the club.

She does not just train one age group, she along with four other coaches trains the U6, U8, U10, U12, U14 and U16's.

She is the driving force behind the club and does all the administration as well as arranging transport to matches, coaching the teams and liaising with the league.

In October she had a full knee replacement (she's only 43) but she still carried on sorting out everything off field and as soon as she was able to walk she went straight back to training.

She is also a committee member and treasurer for the Powys Girls League which are both very time consuming jobs.

The club offers a great opportunity for girls to get into football, and provides a sports outlet that otherwise would not be available in the community.
