Walking Football comes to Wrexham with a Big Launch Tournament

Whether you haven’t played for a good while, or ever at all, but have always had a passion for the beautiful game, why not try Walking Football, a fun and healthy way of keeping active. After the Barclays bank advert, successful Walking Football sessions and leagues are popping up all over the UK, and finally it has come to Wrexham.

The Caia Park Health Team from BCUHB, FA Wales with Wrexham CBC Sports Development, and The Racecourse Community Foundation at Wrexham Football Club have combined forces to bring Walking Football to Wrexham with a big launch tournament.

The Walking Football tournament is on Tuesday 12th May 2015 at the Racecourse Ground between 1pm-3pm (players are to arrive no later than 12:30 for the 1pm start). The tournament is available to men and women aged 40 years and over. You can book as team of 10*, individually, or in small groups, and so will be assigned to a team for the 8-a-side tournament (*8 playing with 2 substitutes).

The tournament is free to enter, but booking is essential, as there are limited places. The deadline for booking is 12 noon on Friday 1st May 2015. Organisers apologise that no spectators are allowed during the event, therefore only participants are allowed in the ground. Football boots or Astroturf trainers are recommended to the players, and parking is available at Glyndwr University.

If you are interested and want to book a place or team, or require more information please contact Robin Ranson at the Caia Park Health Team;
