Wales U14 Boys get steep learning curve at Reading FC Academy

These youngesters are preparing for international football

Reading FC hosted a group of Wales U14 boys at their Royals Academy as Head of Player Development Richard Williams took the chance to run the rule over some of his south based players.

The group, comprised from clubs around South Wales and Southern England, are preparing for the prospect of international selection next season and this match, played in the shadows of the Madejski Stadium, was the latest step in their development.

After a barnstorming fist half, which ended 0-0 amid chances for both sides, wholesale second half changes saw the Welsh boys lose their rhythm and concede five unanswered goals against a pacy Reading side who play together each week.

After the match Richard Williams said: "In the first half we were excellent but in the second half we struggled to cope with their pace. This was a great learning opportunity for everybody though and we look forward to coming back to Reading in the future.
