Wales star joins grassroots girls in viral video to ‘inspire the next generation’

She’s working hard to help us grow the female game

Wales international Hayley Ladd stars alongside players from women’s and girls’ clubs in a video aimed to promote the female game.

The viral video was created by Mastercard in the build-up to the Women’s Champions League final, held in Cardiff.

The former Arsenal midfielder, who has 25 Wales caps to her name, was a guest at the National Women’s and Girls Festival, held in the hours before Lyon beat Paris St Germain at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Ladd, who now plays for Bristol City, said: “I’ve always been obsessed with football. I’ve been kicking a ball around since I was four or five. I remember joining the boys’ team when I was old enough.

“I would tell any young girl that football is a brilliant game. There are lots of teams to join now and there are great opportunities everywhere.”
