Wales star Jessica Fishlock studies UEFA A Licence Award

Jessica Fishlock is the current superstar of Welsh women’s football.
But Wales’ most capped player is already considering a career beyond playing by studying for our UEFA A Licence Award.
The Seattle Reign star is studying our international award remotely and completing contact hours at Dragon Park when she’s home with the Wales squad.
She said: “Doing the A Licence course is real fun and the FAW staff are so supportive.
"It has given me a different perspective to what I do as a player and it encourages me to have my own opinions and supports me to achieve what I want to.”
Wales team manager Jayne Ludlow encourages her senior players to study their badges to expand their knowledge of the game and hopes 100-cap Jess can be one of the top-level Welsh coaches of the future and a role model for others considering coaching.
She said: “Some of our senior internationals and staff members are pushing on with coaching qualifications and trying to educate themselves are far as they can.
“So within our environment we're really pleased with the opportunities we're having to go on those courses.
“Hopefully they will be the top-level Welsh coaches of the future.”
For Fishlock, her studies are about improving as a player as much as they ar looking to the future.
She said: “For me, it's about learning and developing how I approach football and thinking about how I would want to get my team to play.
"There is such a huge knowledge base in the FAW and so many people are helping me form my opinions.
"That knowledge base is helping me as a coach and as a player. It's invaluable."
