Wales boss Chris Coleman thanks schools for support during Euro 2016

As some schools return today, the Wales manager has a special thank you



Wales might be very busy preparing to kick their World Cup 2018 qualifications off with a bang against Moldova on Monday but that hasn't stopped manager Chris Coleman extending his sincere thanks to all of the schools who got right behind his team during their Euro 2016 campaign.

We were inundated with banners, songs, performances and good luck messages on social media.

During the tournament we had visits from pupils across Wales and more than 10,000 schools downloaded our education resource.



Here's what Chris said today...

"I would like to take the opportunity ahead of the Moldova match to thank everyone throughout the country for their magnificent support and their congratulations since the euros.

"The messages from the youngsters and schoolchildren have been inspiring.

"As the schools return after the summer holidays I hope you continue to support the squad during the World Cup qualifiers."



"Mi rydwi am fanteisio ar y cyfle yma cyn y gem yn erbyn Moldofa i ddiolch I bawb am eu cefnogaeth yn ystod yr Ewros.

"Mae 'r negeseuon ers hynny wedi bod yn anhygoel, yn enwedig gan yr ysgolion led led Cymru.

"Gyda' ysgolion ar fin dychwelyd wedi't gwyliau haf dwi yn gobeithio bydd y gefnogaeth yna yn parhau yn ystod Cwpan y Byd."
