Volunteer Opportunity: FAW Trust and LGB&T Sport Cymru Champion

Are you passionate about football and equality of opportunity?

Volunteer Opportunity Available!

The FAW Trust is working closely with the LGB&T Sport Cymru Network* and are looking for a key volunteer to join the network and help move football forwards for all to participate and get involved.

*The LGB&T (Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, and Transgender) Sport Cymru Network was formed in 2013 in response to research conducted by Sport Wales which identified that whilst many lesbian, gay and bisexual people are interested in sport, they have also been put off by negative experiences, or the perception that it is an unpleasant and unsafe environment for gay people.

The role will involve being a champion for this agenda, working closely with the Head of Football Development and representing the FAW Trust at the LGB&T Network meetings and FAW Trust Equality Steering group.

If you are interested in this exciting opportunity please send an e-mail expressing your interest to the Head of Football Development, Caroline Spanton to [email protected] and we can arrange a follow up discussion.

The time commitment will be approx. 4-6 meetings a year with some ambassadorial work at events. (Travel expenses will be reimbursed)

By providing us with your details, you are agreeing to receive communications about volunteering and the work of the FAW Trust network. For further information, or if you would like to stop receiving this communication, please email [email protected]

Applications for the role listed above are welcome from anyone interested in creating a thriving LGB&T community regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. People from BME backgrounds are currently under-represented on the group, applications from people from this group are encouraged and welcomed.
