UEFA Pro Licence candidates learn from Chelsea coach and Sky Sports reporter

It’s been a busy day for our class of coaches

Chelsea U21 coach Aidy Viveash and Sky Sports reporter Bryn Law gave our UEFA Pro Licence candidates some very different things to think about at Dragon Park.

On day two of their latest contact, the group, which includes former Arsenal star Freddie Ljungberg and the likes of Bala Town boss Colin Caton and Prestatyn’s Neil Gibson, watched on as the Chelsea coach delivered a high-tempo session

Viveash took a group of players from Newport County’s academy through a session, which was based around the high press.

Then in the afternoon, the aspiring coaches were taken right out of their comfort zone as the Welsh TV presenter took them through the techniques of pre and post-match interviews.

The Wrexham supporting reporter said: “It doesn’t matter what level you are coaching at, you need to be aware that there are more and more media demands.

“Now coaches at all levels have to deliver their message in a clear and concise manner, whether it’s to fans, directors or even players.”

During the course, the candidates also participated in presentations from former Premier League manager Paul Jewell and current Newport County boss Warren Feeney, as well as receiving coaching from GloballCoach.
