FAW UEFA A Licence course changes

Following a change to the UEFA convention guidelines, we have made amendments to our FAW Coach Education pathway.
We are now able to deliver a UEFA A & Elite Youth A Combined Course.
We believe this will enhance the education and increase the employability of coaches choosing the FAW pathway.

Course Dates:
• Contact 1 – 6 days – 30th May – 4th June 2018
• Contact 2 – 3 days – 2nd – 4th December 2018
• Contact 3 – 7 Days – 20th – 26th May 2019
Course cost: £3500.00 Discounted Rate
£4000 Non-Discounted Rate

Why has the Course Structure Changed?
To meet demands of the industry, the FAW Coach Education Programme has recently updated the structure of our UEFA A Licence course.
Taking into consideration the busy football schedules we have removed the barriers of the previous structure and will now format the
course to include three residential blocks, distance learning, blended learning and Club based mentoring.

How many places are available on the UEFA A & UEFA Elite Youth A Licence?
There will be a maximum of 48 places available.
Will there be a UEFA A International course?
Yes, candidates will be expected to travel to Wales to complete contact 1 & 3. Contact 2 will be completed via further distance learning. International Students will form part of the x48 places we have available. Please note the International course is aimed at Welsh Coaches or Coaches that currently hold FAW Qualifications that are coaching abroad.

What are the Pre-Requisites to apply for the Course?
FAW/ UEFA B Licence Youth
FAW/ UEFA B Licence Senior
UEFA B Licence
Minimum of x12 Months coaching at UEFA B Licence Level.
I currently have the FAW/ UEFA B Licence Youth; Can I still apply?
You are welcome to apply, however please ensure you complete the relevant B Licence Transition Workshop. Dates will be put in place prior to the commencement of the UEFA A Licence course.

What age group should I be coaching to apply for the Course?
To complete the club based mentoring sessions you are required to be coaching U16’s Upwards (Exceptions may be considered in certain circumstances) .

If I attend the UEFA A & UEFA Elite Youth A Licence what Licence do I receive?
By completing and passing the qualification you will hold both qualifications/ Licence.

Will I be required to complete two assessments to pass the course?
The course will have several ongoing assessments throughout the course.
