The Welsh Football Trust is pleased to announce that this year’s live Sky Sports Victory Shield game versus Northern Ireland will take place at Bangor City’s Bookpeople Stadium. The Victory Shield and Sky Sports come to Bangor on Thursday 21st November when a capacity crowd is anticipated.

Wales kick off their campaign with an away fixture v England on 4th October, before playing their first home game v Scotland in Aberystwyth on 31st October.

Osian Roberts commented “ It’s vital we take our games around the country. Bangor City have one of the best playing surfaces and newest facility in the league and I’m sure following the sell out crowd that watched our U21 side this week, the fans will turn out in force once again to support our younger players”.

Roberts added, “The Victory Shield games are special occasions for the players, these are the first televised games that they would have played in. It was only three seasons ago that Cardiff City’s Declan John scored two goals against England in our 4-0 win, now he’s in contention for a starting place in Cardiff’s first Premier League game this Saturday. That’s how quick it can happen for our young players if they are prepared to apply their talents”.
