SCFC Summer Soccer Fever

On the 11th and 12th of August 2014 Swansea City Community Trust delivered a Fun Football Vauxhall Soccer Camp in conjunction with the Welsh Football Trust. Tregib Comprehensive School in Llandeilo was identified as the host venue by local authorities, SCFC Community Trust and the Welsh Football Trust.
The dates chosen coincided with the Super Cup Final played in Cardiff this year. The camp was open to boys and girls of all abilities from the ages of 4-14 yrs old. The Super Cup theme was carried through the two days with the children being asked to design flags, shirts and collect information for the two teams involved, Real Madrid and Sevilla.

SCFC Community Trust Regional Co-ordinator Nigel Mathias spoke of the event – "The Soccer Camps are a huge aspect of the work we do at the Trust. We take great pride in our very positive relationship with the Welsh Football Trust, which enables us to provide these fantastic opportunities for as many children as possible. The main aim of this event was to provide the children with a fun, safe and supervised environment in which to enjoy the game. It was massively pleasing to see around 70 local young boys and girls taking part and thoroughly enjoying the experience. The Super Cup being held in Wales was obviously also a huge bonus and the children really embraced this added dimension’"
