Online FAW Football Leaders Course for our grassroots football family

By FAW Head of Coach Education Carl Darlington

As Head of Coach Education I, like many of you during these challenging times, am missing football right now.

In the current climate, it is vital that we continue to adhere to the current Government advice to ensure we can return to developing the sport we all love as soon as possible.

We pride ourselves in Wales on being recognised as  a ‘World Class Coaching Nation’ and, during these unprecedented times, our aim is to support our volunteer army of grassroots coaches to continue their coach education. Your unrivalled support and commitment to educating our young players and ensuring they fall in love with football is so important.

In order to continue our support of our grassroots coaches, we have developed an online version of our FAW Football Leaders Award.

The award is available for all to access and covers the same pre-learning and practical content as our traditional Football Leaders Award, but can be completed from the comfort of your own home.

We are proud to be able to offer this online version and I’m certain coaches across Wales will enjoy the interactive course materials and online post-course resources. This also enables coaches to be qualified to operate teams when football returns.

You need to be a minimum of 16-year-old to access the course.

FAW coach education staff will be in touch with those currently registered to attend awards in the coming days and are available to answer any questions.
