FAW Coach Education
With the recent launch of the FAW Coach Education website we couldn’t be happier with the feedback we have received on social media.
With the aim to bring Coach Education into the modern era, we have moved our FAW courses onto an online platform. By doing this we are making the new website more accessible to coaches as well as providing greater flexibility to accommodate with their busy lifestyles.
West Wales Junior League Club Secretary, Dylan Richards, had this to say about the new website “The new website looks great and is Much easier for myself as a club secretary to book candidates on”.
The new online presence includes five new online pre course modules that the candidates are required to complete before they attend the practical day. These courses are designed to reduce the on course attendance from 14 hours down to 8 hours as well as provide a challenge for the coach.
The Llanbradach FC Secretary spoke highly of the online modules, saying, “All my coaches really enjoyed the new Leaders course. The balance between a one day practical course with the additional online modules works wonderfully well.”
We have strived to make sure that all of our content is up to date and relevant so the coaches are provided with a clear understanding on a range of coaching practices which will then be developed further on the practical day. One of our November candidates, Rob Richards, stated, “I'd only planned on doing maybe a module every day but once I started I got in the zone. There were lots of elements that I hadn't thought about and look forward to developing these more on a practical level.”
2016 looks set to be an exciting year for coach education in Wales. Our new websites allows you to book onto a range of courses to develop your coaching skills and contribute to the success of Welsh football in the years to come.
