Nominations for 2014 Welsh Community Football Awards, presented by McDonald’s now open

The 2014 Welsh Community Football Awards, presented by McDonald’s, has now opened for nominations. Now in its seventh year, the awards recognise the grassroots clubs and volunteers across the six Area Associations in Wales, who dedicate their time to grassroots football in the local community.

McDonald’s Head of Welsh Football, Ian Rush said: “The role that these volunteers and grassroots clubs play within communities across Wales is vital. They bring together people and young players and dedicate countless hours to ensure clubs can let kids enjoy the game".

“It takes a lot of work from people who deserve to be praised – and that's where The Welsh Community Football Awards, presented by McDonald's comes in. The stories you hear never cease to amaze me and each and every one of them deserves recognition.”

To celebrate the launch of the awards and to showcase the role of the thousands of grassroots volunteers up and down the country McDonald’s commissioned a short video to help inspire nominations for the 2014 Grassroots Awards. You can watch the video below.
