Mumbles Rangers are one of the best run junior football clubs in Wales.
The Swansea based, Gold Accredited club, capitalises on its army of eager volunteers, who are driving the club forward into the next generation.
One of those is club secretary Mike Podbielski, who joined the club when his son was in the U6 squad.
Now, 16 year later, he’s still a part of the Mumbles Rangers family.
He said: “I love being club secretary. I have a solid understanding of what I need to do.
“The communication between the officers of the club, the chairman, the treasure etc. Is important to everything that goes on.”
Even though the club, which is in the process of securing the Community Asset Transfer of its Underhill ground, is one of the best run you’ll find, club President Desmond Criddle admits they’re lucky too.
He said: “We’re lucky to have an amazing bunch of blokes who run this club, day in, day out.
“Everybody knows the standard expected by our coaches and they stick to it.
“Our reward is the fact that our community is being helped by what we do.”WOULD YOU LOVE TO BE A FOOTBALL VOLUNTEER? TAKE A LOOK AT OUR FAW VOLUNTEER HUB
