Recent developments in delivery of the FAW Club Development programme have ensured the raising of standards and increased opportunities for a number of football clubs in the South Wales FA region.

The FAW Club Accreditation Scheme aims to provide quality assured playing structures to ensure young players experience a safe and enjoyable environment when taking part in football. Four “Accreditation” awards are involved, Standard, Bronze, Silver and Gold.

This season, the scheme has witnessed a number of key clubs in the SWFA area moving up the Award Status levels, thereby improving their club image and allowing them to further engage with the Welsh Football Trust’s Grassroots programmes.

In particular, Maesteg Park Junior FC, a progressive club playing in the Bridgend and District Junior League, has now attained SILVER status. The club has fully engaged with the process, been proactive in support of the FAW portal and continues to participate in key WFT programmes such as Coach Education and Player Development.
