Join us for a football experience your girls will never forget
Wales is celebrating a sensational summer and to keep the buzz going we want football-mad girls to come and enjoy our newly laid Dragon Park pitch this Saturday.
While the nation was glued to Euro 2016 and off on summer holidays, our ground staff were working around the clock to create a world class football surface at our Newport home and now we want girls from across Wales to come and try it out, before even Gareth Bale and the rest of the Wales squad have had the chance.
We’re hosting our very first U9 Instagirl tournament on the new pitch but we also want girls of all ages to come along and enjoy some fun football sessions on the other half of the pitch between 11am and 1pm on Saturday, September 10.
If your daughter is football mad, please bring her along to join in the fun with our FAW qualified coaches and experience the excitement of tournament football.
Where do I need to be?
The event will be held at Dragon Park, the National Football Development Centre, which is at the Newport International Sports Village.
Put NP19 4RA into your SatNav or head along the A48 and turn off when you see the sign for Dragon Park at Newport Stadium.
There is ample free parking at Dragon Park, but if you would prefer to come by public transport, get to Newport City Centre and take bus 42 and get off at the SDR end of Somerton Road.

What time is it and what do I need to bring?
The event kicks off at 11am and runs until 1pm, so turn up just before and bring your football boots. Water will be supplied by our partners Princes Gate.
What will happen?
The tournament will be run by our qualified coaches and the turn-up-and-play session will be full of fun football activities, targeted at the ages and abilities of the girls.
Parents and coaches will be offered refreshments in our main conference room at Dragon Park.
We will also have the Women's Champions League trophy at Dragon Park for you and your daughter to have a special selfie with, as we celebrate the final being held at the Cardiff City Stadium on June 1, 2017.
At the end of the two-hour session, girls and their parents will be offered free tickets to watch Newport County against Cheltenham Town at Rodney Parade at 3pm but parents will be responsible for transporting their children to the stadium.
What do I do now?
If you run a team of U9s and want to enter them into the tournament, please contact Tom Keohane at [email protected] or 01633 282911 by midnight on Wednesday and if you want to sing your daughter / players up for the turn-up-and-play session, please CLICK HERE to fill in this online form by midnight on Thursday.
