Could you develop the next Wayne Hennessey?
If you’ve played goalkeeper or you have an appreciation of the fine art of goalkeeping here’s your chance to do something amazing.
As we look to develop the next Wayne Hennessey or Danny Ward, we have an excellent course that’s about to kick off, aimed at developing the specialist goalkeeping coaches of the future.
The first step on our goalkeepers’ coach education programme is the FAW Goalkeepers Award and our next one-day course is being held in Aberystwyth on Sunday, October 9.
What will the course entail?
The aim of the FAW coaching pathway for goalkeepers in Wales is to provide coaches with the opportunity to develop and enhance their knowledge and skills surrounding the goalkeeper, both in an individual capacity and part of a defensive and offensive unit during play.
Courses are designed to provide coaches with information to develop the goalkeeper through technical, functional and game practices.
Wales goalkeeping coach Tony Roberts will be working with the coaches on some of the courses this season.
