The football legends coming to Wales to discuss ‘The Impossible Dream’

Thierry Henry and Marcel Desailly head the list of speakers at our National Coaching Conference

The impossible dream has been realised but how do Wales make sure Euro 2016 qualification isn’t a one-off?
By implementing a world class coaching structure and attracting superstars like Thierry Henry to help drive it into the future.
And that’s where the 2016 National Coaches Conference comes in.

As Welsh eyes turn to France and next month’s showpiece tournament, one of the game’s biggest French stars is coming to Wales to talk to our future coaches.
The Arsenal legend, along with his friend and former teammate Patrick Vieira, helped the coaching class of 2015 both on and off the pitch last year and we’re delighted to welcome Henry back for this weekend’s showpiece event.

Keeping the French theme going, this year the star striker will be joined by another of his World Cup winning teammates Marcel Desailly, as they aim to pass their knowledge on to help us grow the game in Wales.
The national team manager Chris Coleman will also take time out of his Euro 2016 preparations to address the coaches this weekend, as will his assistant Osian Roberts.

Roberts said: “Wales qualifying for EURO 2016 was regarded as ‘the impossible dream’ but this group of special players succeeded in creating their own history and justifying their label as the golden generation.
“The National Coaching Conference will give us an opportunity to reflect on the historical campaign & more importantly look forward to the tournament in France.”

The National Coaches Conference is a football conference for everyone.
It remains a revalidation course for UEFA Pro, A and B Licence holders but will also provide a platform for all involved in Welsh football to learn and develop.
