Children got stuck into our fun football events
The lucky children who spent Saturday at the National Eisteddfod were given the chance to play some fun football on the Maes.
In partnership with Newport County in the Community, we had a pitch set up at the Castle Meadows event in Abergavenny, and spent the day encouraging youngsters to try their hand at football.
We were at the Ardal Chwaraeon 'Sports Area' as part of the 'Give It A Go Zone' set up by Monmouthshire Council.
Here's what was going on:
• Fun football sessions
• Skills coaching
• Small sided games and challenges
We were also on hand to discuss:
• Opportunities to get involved in football locally
• The Newport County - CITC Schools programme & football hubs in the region
• Football activities to attend and details of how to talk to us in more detail.
What else is going on?
Then on Wednesday, August 3, our Technical Director Osian Roberts will be part of a panel discussing Welsh football's incredible 2016 alongside Ian Gwyn Hughes, of the FAW, Dylan Ebenezer, Gwennan Harries and Lowri Roberts.
The discussion will be held at noon on Maes D.
