As part of the FAW and national team sponsor Vauxhall’s commitment to grassroots football, the Fun Football Programme has offered support to several football programmes across Wales to develop and aid community engagement programmes. The accreditation scheme is targeted at increasing participation in football for children of all abilities in a safe learning environment. The term “fun football” is recognised by UEFA and is endorsed as a grass roots development initiative.

The Fun Football Programme has seen more than 18000 female participation opportunities created across Wales in 2013. This coincided with the UEFA European Women's Under-19 Championship taking place in west Wales last summer, the first UEFA tournament to come to the country.
