FAW Coach Education in-person course suspension extended

We have extended the suspension of in-person Coach Education, at all levels in Wales, until Friday 11 September.

We will continue to monitor all Government and key stakeholder advice; while protecting the health, safety and wellbeing of all concerned.

To support our grassroots coaches with their coach education we have outlined the following FAQ’s and are continuously providing opportunities online to allow Coach Education to continue across Wales.

For further information and future updates please ensure your contact details are up-to-date on the FAW Courses System.

We will also provide updates on Twitter and our websites, www.fawcourses.com and www.fawtrust.cymru.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How can I complete the Football Leaders Award?

To support grassroots coaches, we have developed an online version of the FAW Football Leaders Award. The award is available for all to access and covers the same pre-learning and practical content as our traditional Football Leaders Award. You can book your course via https://www.fawcourses.com/category/leaders-online

How can I complete the FAW Goalkeepers Award?

These will be delivered in an online format shortly. All coaches booked on to a previous award that has been cancelled or postponed will be contacted individually first and offered a new online date. Dates will then be advertised for all coaches via https://www.fawcourses.com/category/goalkeepers

How can I complete a FAW Safeguarding Award?

We are currently delivering the Safeguarding Award online. Candidates can book their space as normal via https://www.fawcourses.com/category/safeguarding

Can I complete an FAW First Aid Award?

Following guidance issued by the accredited awarding body for our FAW First Aid Award, Agored Cymru, we are unable to deliver our Award in the current climate. This centres around the practical nature of the course and competency assessment required for all candidates completing this Award. It is for these reasons that all candidates will need to attend in person opposed to exploring ‘online’ alternatives.

Therefore, all courses due to be held within the suspension period will be rearranged as a priority as soon as it is safe to do so. Certificate extensions have been provided for Coaches due to expire in 2020 – 2023.

I require the FAW First Aid Certificate as a pre-requisite for the FAW C Certificate or UEFA B Licence, can I still apply?

We recognise that at present candidates are unable to attend and complete the First Aid Award, therefore you can apply to attend the relevant course without the First Aid qualification on this occasion. You will need to complete the First Aid prior to finishing the C Certificate or B Licence course to gain certification.
