With more than 300 players and 15 different teams, Clarbeston Road AFC can count themselves as the heartbeat of their community.

The Pembrokeshire outfit have invested heavily in improving the facilities, which have benefitted the players and the community as a whole.

Funding for the project has been provided by the Welsh Rural Communities - Rural Development Programme ,which has allowed more players and supporters to get involved with the team.

Chairman Steve Brown said: “We’ve spent the best part of £200,000 on our facilities in the last couple of years, which has helped to extend pitches, improve the infrastructure and improve the comfort for spectators and players.

“Our hope is to provide the full scope for family football so people can come along and take part”.

As well as the money invested in the club, Clarbeston is extremely fortunate to have a number of people from the community who have helped the side progress on and off the pitch.

Vice Chairman Huw Bevan added: “We have wonderful volunteers and coaches, of which there is around 50 in total.

“We all work together as a team and it’s led to the accreditation, we’ve had which I’m absolutely over the moon with”.
