Central Wales Fun Football Soccer Camps

Caersws Junior Football Club, in partnership with the FAW and Vauxhall, held a Fun Football camp this summer in Caersws during August to get into the spirit of Wales hosting the UEFA Super Cup final on Tuesday12th August. Over 75 children aged between 5 and 14 years old attended over the two days, .

All children regardless of age or ability were enthusiastic to learn new skills and enjoyed playing football with their peers. A fantastic time was had by both coaches and children.

Over the two days the children were actively involved in acquiring new and exciting skills including a variety of turns and tricks. They also learnt new techniques such as shooting, passing and dribbling.

As the children were still buzzing from the UEFA Super Cup events we decided to enable the children to focus this energy into their very own mini football tournament every afternoon. Each child received a well-earned certificate. In addition, the coaches handed out footballs to some children who demonstrated good behaviour and excellent skills. The parent of a child attending the camp commented; “it’s great to see all the children go away with new friends and smiles on their faces from playing football”.

It was a great occasion, the weather was fantastic and the pitches were in excellent condition thanks to Robert Jones . Tom Mc Cormack, also a scout for a top premiership football team, thought that there was some outstanding talent on show as well as great attitudes and a willingness to learn and develop new skills was shown from all the children. Chris Thompson said: “It was a great response, and was inspiring to see children enjoying the world’s greatest game in a fun, friendly and safe environment”.

This is a first for Caersws Junior Football Club and we have all had a great time.
