Ex Premier League striker feels strongly about mental health issues
Former Wales striker Nathan Blake joined us at Dragon Park for the filming of an exciting new video aimed at raising awareness of mental health issues in football.
He was joined by the Newport County participants of our #WeWearTheSameShirt campaign, launched in partnership with Time to Change Wales and production company Tiny Welsh Media.
The former Cardiff City, Wolves and Blackburn striker is on the board of Newport County in the Community and spoke of the good work being done at the club to help people suffering with mental health issues.
He said: "At the elite end of the football, mental health is a big issue because of the pressure involved but it doesn't matter what you do or who you are, you can be affected by a mental health issue.
"Campaigns like #WeWearTheSameShirt use football to help people who really need it and the people who are involved in our scheme really get a lot out of it."
Wales Women's international Tash Harding is also taking part in the video.
She was interviewed while on camp with the women's squad at the Vale Hotel, in Hensol.
Look out for the video, which will be launched next month, and click here for more information about the campaign.
