Kids are going football crazy in north Wales
Wales’ Euro 2016 success inspired Bangor City to host their biggest ever summer soccer camp and it was a great success as hundreds of kids enjoyed it.
For the first time ever, the club committed to hosting a four-day football camp for each of the seven weeks of the school summer holidays and more than 1,200 boys and girls gave it a go.
The mixed camp was run by the Bangor City FC in the Community coaches on the 3G pitch at the Bangor University Stadium, in Nantporth, and the children who attended were given the opportunity to have fun while learning a range of new sporting skills.
Bangor City’s delighted community officer Ethan Ray said: “We enjoyed a fantastic seven weeks of soccer camp fun.
“To have more than 1,200 children coming to our facilities during their summer break was incredible.
“To engage with this number of young footballers and provide a positive environment for them to play the game, develop and most importantly have fun, has been great.
“We can’t wait for the October Half-Term to deliver another four-day camp.”
