Bala Town Ladies kick-off for the first time

Hopefully this will be the first of many

Bala Town Ladies 1-3 Bangor City Ladies

After months of training, Bala Town Ladies played their first ever competitive game against Bangor City at Maes Tegid.

In very wet and windy conditions, the hosts started brightly, stringing together some great attacking moves that were a great advert for women's football.

On 20 minutes the fledling Bala team scored their first ever goal, with Zoe Williams writing her name in the history books after some great work down the left by her team mates.

At the other end, centre back Bethan Davies was one of the stars for Bala as the battled to keep their lead until the half-time break.

In the second half, the fitness and experience told for the visitors, who scored three unanswered goals to claim a comfortable win.

A Bala Town spokesman said: "No matter the result, the game showed that Bala Town Ladies can be a competitive team and with more games and training.

"We will see this team continue to grow and get improve with every game.

"A great performance by all the players involved."
