What an amazing day to help us grow the female game
More than 1,600 players enjoyed our biggest ever National Women's and Girls Festival at Cardiff University Playing Fields.
More than 160 teams, from U8 to senior, competed in the tournament, played out before the Cardiff City Stadium hosted the Women's Champions League Final between Lyon and Paris St Germain.
The sun shone over Cardiff as women and girls from the length and breadth competed against each other in a friendly atmosphere.
FAW Trust CEO Neil Ward said: "This is one of many events we've been involved in to help promote the women's and girls game in Wales.
"Growing the female game is a big area of work for us. We're aiming to get 20,000 females playing the game in Wales by 2024.
"Events like this and the Women's Champions League final will only help to grow the women's and girls game in Wales."
Wales Women's international Hayley Ladd also attended and she said: "It's great to see so many girls enjoying such a great occasion.
"Hopefully this will inspire more girls to get involved in the game."
