Junior League recognises achievements of clubs at special awards evening

Tuesday January 28th at Stebonheath Social Club home of Llanelli FC saw a great evening event as clubs from around Carmarthenshire were recognised for their various levels of Club Accreditation.

With guests including Llanelli Town Council Mayor and Mayoress Mr MJP Burns and Ms Ff.S Larsen, WWFA Chair Chris Smart, FAW Life Member Bob Waygood, WWFA members Ceri Richards and John Davies and Swansea City Trust ‘s Nigel Mathias and Jackson Moody, the evening highlighted the importance of the recognition of work achieved by the volunteers at the 31 clubs in Carmarthenshire.

With mandatory criteria for clubs to reach Standard Award within the FAW Club Accreditation, League Secretary Colin Jenkins highlighted the great achievements by the member clubs in reaching well above the mandatory requirement, with nine clubs on Standard, eighteen achieving Bronze, three on Silver and one Gold Award club.

WWFA Chair Chris Smart acknowledged the great work achieved by the clubs and complimented all involved on their success, stressing the support of the WWFA for future work with Club Accreditation in the area.

Welsh Community Football Award National Community Coach of the Year winner Kevin Francis (Burry Port FC) was also on hand to present a certificate to Whitland Junior FC.
